Borgie Falls
"Borgie Falls" - watercolour - 25 x 36 cm
Borgie Falls will be well-known to
people who fish on the River Borgie, in Northern Sutherland. It must
be exciting to see the salmon, leaping up the waterfall to reach
their spawning grounds higher up the river.

Great effect with the dry brush work on the rough paper Keith. Very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray, it's a useful technique sometimes.
DeleteGood evening Keith!... A splendidly forceful composition! One cannot escape that series of waterfalls... no more than can the salmon can in their migration. Great balance and excellent color. masterful water color... as usual!
ReplyDeleteGood Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Thanks Bruce, I guess you are feeling your own seasonal "call of the river" by now!
DeleteAll the best,
Keith
A very different 'view' - lots of movement and excitement. I found myself wondering what it is like above the fall - and even beyond, further down the river. Great painting; it pushes the imagination in so many different directions, all at the same time. Kind regards, Diane
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. Thinking about it, I suppose that's what makes waterfalls so attractive: all the drama, and the sense of the river being on a journey.
