Impressions of an Untamed Country
I'm having an exhibition in the Mezzanine Gallery, at Elgin Museum, during October. This is a selection of the paintings on show. Most of them have been shown here before, but I think the first one is new.

Good evening Keith!... What a lovely collection of untamed landscapes! Your love of these untamed and solitary places is so powerfully obvious in the manner in which you capture them!
ReplyDeleteIt would be difficult to find a place in our part of the world where one in dwelt in such solitude!
The consistently lovely, warm colours of your palette richly enhance the mood and inviting feel that you have created in each!
Good luck with your exhibition!
Good Painting... and Sales!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Keith, Happy to hear your paintings will be on exhibition for a month..
ReplyDeleteand good to know that others will be able to see your beautiful landscapes.. Looking at them takes me to places I've never seen and yet know they are there..
Wonderful how you recreate these scenes..
All the best... BJ
Beautiful pictures Keith. Best of luck with the exhibition.
ReplyDeleteHi Bruce, in view of the fact that Britain is such a crowded island, we really are fortunate to have these more empty areas up here.
ReplyDeleteRoll on those autumn colours,
All the best,
Keith
Thanks Barbra Joan.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steven.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings, Keith! I am going to do my very best to get up and see your exhibition in Elgin. Are you planning on being there at any time, it would be great to catch up? :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings Keith, look forward to seeing them for real. Let me know when you are at the museum, best of luck.
ReplyDeleteI really like all of these Keith but that first one is exceptional. I am amazed at how you've managed to suggest a haziness in the distance yet bold sharp edges in the foreground. The light and dark tones of the tree line and very impressive. I wish I could get up to Elgin ... I really would like to see your work in the flesh. Good luck with the exhibition.
ReplyDeleteHello Ingrid, I hope you can get up to see the paintings; it's a long way to travel though.
ReplyDeleteI'm only going to be there to set up and take down, on 24th September and around 5th November.
Thanks Caroline. I'll be there on the 24th. I'm not sure whether I've got your phone number. I'll call you if I have.
ReplyDeleteThanks John. Hopefully you'll get to see my paintings one day.
ReplyDeleteHello Keith I have just sent you an email. My email address is as before.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ina.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Keith, on your new exhibition. That is wonderful. I really like the second and the third painting from the bottom. I hope that you do particularly well.
ReplyDeleteExciting with a new blog format...
ReplyDeleteThanks Ina.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane, those were my favourites as well.
ReplyDeleteHI there Keith... I have already commented on these works... but unfortunately have not been able top comment on the newest piece which is... as usual well executed and a pleasure to the eye!
ReplyDeleteGood Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Thanks Bruce, I'm still busy with exhibitions and website revamping. I've also got plans for another blog for small paintings and sketches. I think I'm getting on top of it now, so hopefully things will be back to normal soon.
ReplyDeleteI see you've been on your Algonquin pilgrimage. It looks as though it was perfect this year.
All the best,
Keith
